Mothers Day is May 11...Everything she needs is at Back Yard!!

Hi Everyone!!

Mothers Day is Sunday, May 11. We are stocked and ready at BackYard. Have you thought about a Gift Certificate? What about a painted Window? A Potting Table? A vintage Wedgewood Platter in Magestic Purple? We have all this and more. Hurry while selections are still good. Or...a custom order? We can design that perfect table, bench or potting table just to fit Mom's needs.

We have many new arrivals, what about this sweet pair of small chests? Soft white with French details and so sweet and shabby. These are priced at $38 each. Timeless Blue and White Treasures. Maybe mom needs a new set of end tables. Warm oak finish with roping details, priced at $50 for the pair. Great for a family room, living room or bedroom.

Look at this Great Vintage Pie Safe!! Tons of storage, great patina...$85. Wow!! Pair it with this Great Pottery Barn Round Table. Black Frame with Deep mahogony top, paired with 2 Black Windsors. And, only $125. This set makes a great breakfast room suite. The table will seat 4 comfortably, mix the chairs for more interest. Look at this oversized Hand Made Basket. Great accent piece on the Fire Place with a few logs, at the back door to collect Boots and shoes or as a magazine holder!!

We had many requests for a larger potting table, check out this one in Barn Red. Use inside or out. Great Kitchen Island. $125

Don't forget about Dad, Fathers day will be here before you know it. Pick him up this Great Hand Carved Duck $25. Every golfer could use another photo frame and this one is so cute. Or for the Sailor...great decorative piece with actual broadcloth sail.

Here are a couple of my favorites. A solid pecan, dove tailed side Table. I warmed it up with a coat of black paint and a few wood details peeking through. The turned legs are great. Dads study is calling out for this great piece, $35. Or need a black side table a little shabbier, $20. But...this Hand painted Light Fixture is georgeous!! Perfect for Over the sink in the kitchen, the dining room table or as a spot light to pair with another great piece of art, $75.

The End Result.....Did you guess correctly??

Thanks all of you that tuned in today. Hope you enjoyed the program. The photos below are the before and then the after. WDHN TV 18 has offered a challenge, You the viewers can email or call the station and tell them what you would like to see Thomas and I build from Repurposed materials. We will draw from the entries on air and then we will create what YOU have ask for!! Don't wait, start sending those emails with your ideas!!!

First up in the sequence of the program:

OK! This is a Pot Rack. This piece is made from the Spindles of a discarded Baby Bed and some left over scrap lumber. Thomas used the router to give it a decorative edge, spray painted it white....I added a few vines and there you have it. I have included photos of the before, finished from a distance and the up close. The last photo is from underneath, to show the spindles with the S hooks and the pots hanging. This can be used over an Island, Stove or even sink. Very versatile. This is available at Back Yard Now!! It is priced, including the vines for $25.

Ok, Up next is a Great Bench with Storage! We used a full size head board and foot board, along with some scrap bead board material, hinges from old shutters and some paint!! This piece is great for storage at the back door. Use it to sit and take off those dirty shoes. Perfect for a foyer, fits perfectly at the end of a bed. Great for seating with a table or even a toy box. I stained the piece first and then used a Rustoleum paint so that it can be used outside. Add a cushion and you have another seating option in the family room. This piece is available at Back Yard!!

I saved the Best for Last!! These are the before photos. The large spool is something used for industrial materials, the columns are from someoness front porch and were found on the side of the road.

We created a Farm Table. The boards on the top and the frame work are actually from the spool. The legs are the columns. Each plank on the top of the table is 1 inch thick. The table measures 6 ft in length and 3 ft wide. The table stands 30 1/4 inches in height. Thomas ripped and planned the boards. They were sanded to be completely smooth. I hand stained with a Dark Mahogany and then gave the piece a Hand Rubbed finish with Bees Wax and oil. The finish is a smooth as a baby's butt!! The legs are painted in a semi gloss Black...the contrast is stunning.

Don't think that you have to have a primitive or country home to use a table like this. I would pair this table with an upholstered chair for a dinning room, or even a Painted Windsor. For a more contemporary look I would pair this beauty with a pair of Natural Fiber Chairs on the ends and a wood finish or painted straight chair on the side. I threw a nice needlepoint rug across the table and added a Primitive Dough Bowl.

We have many other new arrivals at Back Yard, here are just a few of the photos. Thanks to all of you.... Can't wait to see you!!

A Sweet 1940's Pembroke Table and a great 50's Magazine Table. This piece has a great Shabby Finish..priced at $18, hurry it will not last!!

A cute little Toy Box with a seat...perfect for Boy or Girl..priced at $20. A Needle Point French Country Rug, Mr Rooster Boast a Bold Figure, take him home for $35. I included a close up of the Primitive Dough Bowl and Needlepoint rug on the Farm Table.

Remember, a Wonderful, Warm and Welcoming Home does not need to cost a fortune....You can do it and I am always happy to help!
